Mel is a lifelong artist who, happily, became a photographer quite by accident. After graduating with a degree in Fine Art, she started taking pictures for family friends and before she knew it, she was traveling the world, shooting weddings, engagements, and family sessions all over the globe.

After 13 years of shooting events and teaching others to do the same through speaking engagements and workshops, Mel parlayed her talents into homeschooling her children. She’s been teaching art for other homeschool kids, along with her own, for the past 10 years. Being a mom is her greatest passion and she loves getting to share her love of art with children through that role.

Today, she still enjoys photographing families and events, traveling with her kids, and trying to keep up with her far-too-large garden, which is always trying to get away from her.
